You know the saying... 'if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere'?
Well, I think we made it because our debut at the Circle of Sisters 2013 expo in NYC was an overall success! We received so many smiles and positive feedback from just about everyone who saw our products and for us that's a tell tale sign we ought to keep going.
We arrived on Friday, Oct 18th with plenty of boxes and tape and got to work. Our booth was up 5 hours later!
On Saturday, we came dressed to match our pretty pink carpet which is our staple uniform for presenting. With our booth and products in place we braced ourselves for our biggest event to date.
So, so grateful that my daddy and my sister came along to help my husband and I work the booth. They were with us both days and we sure needed their help as we got absolutely NO breaks!
Saturday's expo was open from 10am to 10pm and Sunday's was from 11am to 8pm.
Next time, we'll be wearing sneakers... comfy, comfy sneakers.
Naturally, our 'My Smile' phone cases were the main attraction.
People’s faces lit up when they saw them as the designs generated instant smiles and curiosity. It was such a pleasure to see how ecstatic women became when they saw themselves in one of our items especially if the hairstyles matched. One woman commented on how honored she felt to FINALLY see great looking “African American” representations.
It was also such an honor to meet so many of our online followers from Instagram (www.instagram.com/thedynasmiles) and Facebook (www.fb.com/thedynasmiles)!
All in all, we are so happy to have set a goal and demolish it! We made great connections and introduced our product lines to so many fabulous women, men and children.
Special THANKS to everyone who contributed to our GoFundMe campaign to help make our showing a success. Vending at the Circle of Sisters expo is very expensive for any business and financially we were able to at least break even because of our strong support system.
Those of you who contributed should have received your phone case or "Smile On" graphic tees by now. If not, it will arrive very soon.
